Michael J. Fox picked the initial "J" to distinguish himself from Michael Fox, a 50s actor. In 'Back To The Future' (1985), young George McFly says he's a big fan of the show 'Science Fiction Theater,' which often featured Michael Fox.

Buford 'Mad Dog' Tannen asks Marty McFly "What's your name, dude?" In the 19th century, 'dude' was an insult. It was used to refer to dandies; city dwellers who dressed in fancy clothes and who came west to their "dude ranches," or rich hobby farms.

Doc's scarf in Back To The Future 3 was (1990) made from his shirt from Back To The Future 2 (1989). An interesting detail.

Back To The Future 3, Doc Brown gives a bit of his family history. He says that his family immigrated from Germany in 1908 and changed their name from Von Braun to Brown during WWI. Vaguely alluding that he's related to Werner Von Braun, an ex nazi scientist, creator for the US rocket program.

Doc gives Marty $50 to buy a Pepsi to account for inflation in 2015

Doc is so obsessed with time that he is constantly wearing two watches.

When Marty rushes to Biff to steal back the almanac in Back To The Future 2 (1989), he calms the crowd by saying he knows CPR, to which a puzzled bystander asks what CPR is. CPR didn't become common knowledge until the 70's.

When Doc and Marty are about to leave 2015, you can get a subtle hint of what Biff has done before the movie explains it, as the Last Time Departed panel in the DeLorean shows the year 1955 instead of 1985, implying someone else must have used the Time Machine

As Calvin Klein was relatively unknown in Europe at the time, Marty is mistaken for Levi Strauss and Pierre Cardin in some Euro versions

The time machine is left in a mine for over 70 years. The Delorean is one of the few cars made of stainless steel, which doesn't rust.

Doc explains that he didn't have time to finish the model, even though it looks incredibly detailed. Interestingly, when you look closer, some of it is made out of salt shakers and bottles.

When Marty wakes up at the end, he is sleeping in the same position he had fallen asleep in before he woke up to meet Doc. Having woken up in the same position makes himself think he hadn't woken up at all. That's why he sits up, looks around and says "what a nightmare".

Several scenes before they realize Marty has altered history, Doc looks at the family photo and comments that its an obvious fake because "they cut off your brother's hair". Marty's brother was already beginning to disappear.

Marty tells everyone in 1885 his name is Clint Eastwood. Just before he travels to 1885, there is a poster for Revenge of the Creature, Clint Eastwood's first movie. This scene takes places in 1955, the year that film was released.

Back to the Future, when Emmett Brown and Marty McFly travel in the Wild West, we see them from time to time with their faces covered with fabric. Observing well, we realize that this is the same pattern as on the shirt of Doc in the first episode of the trilogy.
