Kung Fu Panda Movie Trivia
A Chinese euphemism, ?? (gu?ca?), "to hang colorful decorations," is used when someone is shot and killed. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), after killing Master Thundering Rhino with a cannon shot, Lord Shen's forces hang a colorful piece of fabric on his hammer.
Yellow is the colour of heroism. The villain, Tai Lung has golden irises, making him the hero in his own eyes.
Tigress dislikes Po, who is chosen as the Dragon Warrior. This is a clever reference to Chinese symbolism, where tigers and dragons are seen as opposites and eternal rivals.
Master Shifu's name literally means Master Master. The Chinese translation for Shi fu is "skilled person" or "master."
This detail in Kung Fu Panda (2008) blew my mind when I realised it years later! (explanation in comments)
Just before the final fight you can see both Shens theme colour (red) and Po's (yellow).

Master Shifu briefly looks at the camera as he steals Po's dumpling.
When Shi Fu steals a dumpling, he makes this face. The scene lasts for less than 30 frames.
When Po's adoptive father Mr. Ping is introduced to the audience, the shadow of Mr. Ping (the Goose) carrying the vessel resembles that of a Panda. Po also dresses in a similar way.

The triplets are named Ku-Ku, Shwey-Shwey and Meng-Meng. This references how China names their panda's which, on occasion, name them with two syllables, before renting them out to different zoos. Examples of these names, are "Bei-Bei" "Tian Tian" and "Bao Bao"
Surprised no one noticed this. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) during this scene you can see that Lord Shens beak is rather than its normal black is instead a beige sort of white looking colour. The reason for this is due to the character having albinism and that the inks he uses probably worn off.
Kung Fu Panda Movie Foreshadowing
When Tigress and Po fight, the floor of the prison is shaped as a ying-yang symbol. The movie uses this when the characters are discussing inner peace, and Po's internal conflict is why Tigress wanted Po to stay behind.
response to hearing about Master Oogwa's vision of Tai Lungs escape Shifu sends a duck to the prisoner to bolster defences. In conversation Oogwa says "one often meets his destiny on the road to avoid it". Tai Lung later uses this ducks feather to escapefrom prison.
