Inception Movie Facts, Easter Eggs and hidden details

The Main Character's name Cobb. He is named after Cobb from Nolan's debut film The Following

The architect that Dom hires to design the dream level mazes is named Ariadne. In Greek mythology Ariadne was a Cretan princess associated with mazes and labyrinths.

Aurthur is limping. Earlier he was shot by Mal in a dream and as per her the mind remembers the pain even after you wake up. So the limping shows that his mind is still recovering from the pain.

Cobb and Stephen discuss the difficulty of extradition between France and the US. This is a reference to "Catch Me If You Can", a movie where Leo's character goes through that process due to an exception being made in his case.

In the cafe where Cobb talks to Eames in Mombassa, a gentleman can be seen reading Taifa Leo. It's a real thing - and the only Swahili-language newspaper published in Kenya.

When Hobbs is shooting the guards with a silenced pistol he catches the casings to avoid detection from the other guards.

Ariadne draws the circular maze that gets her the job on the cover of the notepad. This is because the paper is gridded, which would trick a human into drawing a square or rectangular shape.

Ending debate is finally over. Cobb's Totem is his Ring. In the real world he has no ring whereas the ring is present in the dreams. In the final scene he has no ring so the "happy ending" is reality.

The side mirrors on the van have a hard time remembering which one is supposed to be folded in

Fischer gives arbitrary numbers for a combination he doesn't know. They later appear again as the blondes phone number from the bar, the hotel room numbers, and eventually the combination to his father's safe.

: Eames loses his last chips, yet he is then shown cashing out 2 stacks. These are forgeries. Hence why Cobb picks one up and says "your spelling hasn't improved, how's your handwriting?" to which Eames replies "versatile" indicating his forging abilities.

Can we make today all about character names? My favorite: in Inception (2010) the maze-maker they recruit is named Ariadne after the Greek labyrinth myth.

Micheal Caine's character hires Ariadne to be part of the job, but also to help Cobb get out of his downward spiral following his wife's death. Ariadne is the name of the Greek myth who helped Theseus escape the labyrinth.

Before shooting a guard with a silenced pistol, Cobb covers the ejection port with his hand to catch the expended shell casing, not letting it fall to the floor

Ellen Page plays Ariadne in Christophe Nolan's Inception (2010). In Greek mythology Ariadne is the one who helps Theseus find his way out of the Labyrinth after slaying the Minotaur.

The movie title never appears in the beginning of the movie, but appears three times during the end credits. Once at the beginning, again after the main actors and developers, and once more at the very end.

Christopher Nolan had Ellen Page's hair put into a bun in the dream level where they become weightless, as it was easier than her hair being down and figuring out how to shoot it floating around

Dom Cobb quickly leaves after Saito's heist fails because he "doesn't like trains". This foreshadows the event that continues to traumatize him throughout his career - him and Mal escaping from limbo.

A series of numbers keeps appearing. The number that Fischer gives Cobb is 528491. The two hotel rooms used are rooms 528 and 491. The number that Eames gives to Fischer is 528-491. The combination to the strongroom starts with 52, and the combination to the safe is 528-491.

Yusuf gives the finger to the guys shooting at him as he reverses off the bridge.

When Eams changes his appearance in the dream, you can see his reflection gradually change between shots

When planning the heist, they spend a lot of time within the dreams they are going to create, not only to test their architecture, but to use the time dilation effect to increase the time they have to plan the heist. [explanation in comments]

Yusuf (the chemist) can be seen flipping off Fischers security right before he drives off the bridge. First time noticing it after 5+ watches.

When they go into different layers of sleep, you can see camera shakes and effects from the upper layers in real time.

Fischer's private jet that was supposed to make the Sydney to Los Angeles trip has the registration number VH-7JL. All Australian registered aircraft begin the letters VH

This location that Ariadne creates in her introduction scene to the dream world looks the same as that seen briefly in Kieslowski's Three Colours: Blue (1993).

Cobb is only seen wearing his wedding ring when he's inside a dream.
