Doc Hudson told Lightning McQueen that after he returned from his crash, they told him he was history. With Doc being a Hudson Hornet, this is true to the real car, because it had an 86% win ratio in the early 50's, but was left behind because it had an outdated flathead engine.
-
Mack puts "Jocko Flocko" on the side of his truck. Jocko Flock was a monkey used as a marketing stunt in auto racing in the 50s. He drove in Tim Flock's Fabulous Hudson Hornet.
-
The cars watch versions of Disney movies with the characters replaced by cars. Mack, Lightning McQueen's truck, compliments one character in each film. Each character he compliments is voiced by John Ratzenberger, who also voices Mack.
Easter Eggs
Finding Easter Eggs in movies is one of my favorite hobbies. Hidden objects, characters, and their meanings are wonderful ways to discover the filmmaker's perspectives of any given movie.

An 'Apple car' can be seen in the race at the beginning of the movie. This is a tribute to the former CEO of Pixar, Steve Jobs. The number 84 is also significant and was chosen because it was the year the first Apple computers began selling. -
The Lightyear tires used by the race cars are an obvious reference to Buzz Lightyear, the not so obvious detail is that they are listed as being from 'Sector 4, Gamma Quadrant' where Buzz said he stationed in the first Toy Story movie. -

I am pretty sure that you've watched Cars, maybe in a theater near you or on the small screen, but probably not many of the small details have taken your attention. Most of the previous facts are hidden for some reason, but still, there is plenty of randomly forgetten stuff that makes the movie unique and interesting. The more you know, the more fascinated you'll be about Cars and will watch it online, download or stream it again and again.
