Doctor Strange (2016), Benedict Cumberbatch portrays Dormammu via motion capture and voice acting - this was done to reflect how Dormammu makes his appearance a mirror of Doctor Strange.

The artifact Mordo possesses is the Staff of the Living Tribunal. Its name is a subtle reference to the Living Tribunal, a cosmic entity that oversees and maintains balance in the realities of the Marvel multiverse.

Before Steven Strange crashes his car Billy gives strange a option on operating on a air force colonel who has a crushed spine from testing a new experimental armor and in Iron Man (2010) a soldier tests a makeshift Iron man suit and breaks his spine

The Ancient One is wearing her hood while she bends matter freely to stop Kaecilius. This is to cover her forehead to hide the fact that she is channeling power from the Dark Dimension (which is revealed later), which is why Kaecilius calls her a hypocrite.

The live/die/repeat finale is hinted at early in the film, just before Strange gets in the car accident. When he picks up his watch, the face reads February 2nd. Groundhog Day. Which also happens to be the name of a movie about a guy stuck in a timeloop.

When Kaecilius and his zealots arrive at Hong Kong for the final battle, you can see they come from the desert. Kaecilius went there to pick up the zealot that was thrown into the desert during the London Sanctuary fight.

The song playing when he's driving his car is 'Interstellar Overdrive'. It starts off with a powerful rhythm, then loses its structure, only to regain its main theme. This mirrors Strange's character arc (good life - loses everything - becomes more powerful than he was).

In the opening fight between The Ancient One and Kaecilius, she puts them in the Mirror Dimension. Kaecilius then shouts "Hypocrite!" because he knows that she secretly uses the Dark Dimension just like him, making her more powerful in the MD

Watches and time are reoccurring elements in Doctor Strange (2016). Strange wears watches during the beginning of the movie to follow time, but it breaks just before he is told to forget everything he knows. Later in the movie he controls time instead of following it with the Time Stone.

When Dormammu takes back Kaecilius and his followers to the Dark Dimension they turn into Mindless Ones.

: Baron Mordo doesn't have a cloak of levitation to slow his fall in the mirror dimension, and so uses the Vaulting Boots of Valtorr to slow him down. Briefly visible in 3 quick scenes and accompanied by an unmistakeable magic swoosh on each step.

Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive is played during a scene, this is in homage due to Pink Floyd featuring a image of Doctor Strange on their album A Saucerful of Secrets's cover.

Strange's temples turn gray after the bargain with Dormammu

Moments before being led to Karmar Taj, Steven is returned his broken watch symbolizing his inevitable departure from time as he once knew it.

His assistant is telling him about possible people to do surgery on, he talks about Col. Rhodes, who broke his spine when Vision accidentally hit him in Civil War.

Billy asks Strange to perform surgery on a patient that got his lower spine crushed in "some sort of experimental armor", as a reference to the pilot that got his back broken in Justin Hammer's attempt at an Iron Man suit in Iron Man 3 (2013).

Strange mentions to Wong "People used to think that I was funny." and Wong responds "Did they work for you?" Later, after he bargains with Dormammu, Strange jokingly says "The warnings come after the spells." This causes Wong to laugh because at that point he works for Strange.

Strange rejects a client case for a "35 year-old Air Force colonel" who "crushed his lower spine in some kind of experimental armor". That was the pilot of Hammer's faulty Iron Man clone, seen when Tony hijacks the TVs during his Senate Hearings (Iron Man 2, 2010).
