Goon Movie Trivia
Director Richard Donner wanted an authentic reaction from the kids when they saw Willie's ship for the first time, so they didn't get to see it until it was time to shoot. The scene had to be reshot due to the cast swearing as part of their reaction.

Goon Movie Easter Eggs
Deadpool 2, Deadpool calls Cable "One-Eyed Willy." In The Goonies (1985), the kids were in search of pirate One-Eyed Willy's treasure. One of those kids was played by Josh Brolin (also Cable).
When Chunk calls the police, the sheriff references a prank call about "all those little creatures that multiply when you throw water on them." - Chris Columbus wrote both The Goonies and Gremlins.
Sloth was played by former NFL defensive end John Matuszak. Matuszak played for the Oakland Raiders before his retirement in 1982. In certain scenes you can see that Sloth is wearing a Raiders shirt.
