Elendil is the faithful king that escapes the fall of Numenor, he founds Gondor and is the direct ancestor to Isildur and Aragorn. In The Fellowship of the Ring Aragorn briefly uses his name as a warcry while leaping into battle.

The firework at the beginning of Bilbo's birthday forms a tree

Saruman displays a weapon never seen before (black powder for explosives). However, in the Fellowship of the Ring Gandalf has fireworks that launch as rockets and explode...Additionally, the hobbits seem a custom to the fireworks (at least seeing them on occasion)
