Never noticed this earlier, but the scene in Madagascar (2005) is a reference to either the 'To Serve Man' episode of The Twilight Zone (Season 3, Episode 24) or the scene from The Naked Gun 2 1/2 : The Smell of Fear (1991) -
Has an Easter Egg to Cast Away (2000) by the way it seems the waves are taking them an unreasonably distance away from where they should be each shot.
Madagascar Hidden Facts
You might have been thinking it was ironic that the penguins weren't swimming away in this scene instead of getting on a boat, but in the wild, penguins learn to swim when they fledge out. They didn't get this opportunity, since they were lost at sea at the time.
Might be a bit obvious, but in Madagascar 3 (2012) the penguins brought the diamonds and gold that were in the last movie, from the watering hole in Madagascar 2 (2008)
Foreshadows that they will be in France (Not nessecarily Paris) in the third film
When Alex and Marty meet each other at the beach, the background music is from the movie Chariots of Fire by Vangelis. Also, when Alex starts to chase Marty, he utters Sugar Honey Ice Tea which is a slang for SHIT.



One of the penguins is named after a common Polish surname, Kowalski. Ad?lie Penguins are from Antarctica, home of the South Pole.
