Madagascar Movie Facts, Easter Eggs and hidden details

The mark of Alex has the shape of Africa, which concludes the island Madagascar. This mark did not appear in the first movie, only from the second movie to next ones.

Marty is walking down the streets of New York and parodies the opening of Saturday Night Fever (1977) with the same actions, whilst Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees plays in both scenes

Has a quick reference to Cast Away (2000). I was going to extend both the videos, cause they did similar actions making the fire, but I decided not to.

One of the lemurs is named after the first king of Madagascar, M?ric Be?ovsk?. M?ric was also the first european that sailed in the Pacific ocean

Kowalski gives the drop height in meters but when Skipper asks to speak American he gives them in yards

When Alex hunts Marty, the theme of National Geographicb (1997) plays, which references how they film animals in their natural habitats

: Melman (the giraffe) is rebuffed after crossing over to the First Class section to request drink service in Coach. They are are surreptitiously served by the penguin "stewardess" just before crash landing.

Never noticed this earlier, but the scene in Madagascar (2005) is a reference to either the 'To Serve Man' episode of The Twilight Zone (Season 3, Episode 24) or the scene from The Naked Gun 2 1/2 : The Smell of Fear (1991)

Has an Easter Egg to Cast Away (2000) by the way it seems the waves are taking them an unreasonably distance away from where they should be each shot.

You might have been thinking it was ironic that the penguins weren't swimming away in this scene instead of getting on a boat, but in the wild, penguins learn to swim when they fledge out. They didn't get this opportunity, since they were lost at sea at the time.

Might be a bit obvious, but in Madagascar 3 (2012) the penguins brought the diamonds and gold that were in the last movie, from the watering hole in Madagascar 2 (2008)

Foreshadows that they will be in France (Not nessecarily Paris) in the third film

Just as Melman enters the front suite of the plane to check on the drinks oder, King Julien and Maurice are watching a clip which is showing a montage of aeroplane crashes. This is a foreshadowing about their own plane's crash-landing a few moments later.

The keyholes in Penguins of Madagascar (2014) are Octopi because the antagonist is an Octopus.

Private tries without success to hack into the ship's system to change its course. He wrote with his feet "What a piece of work is Penguin" .

When the penguins penetrate one of the planes with their bodies the oxygen masks are released, showing a picture of a man wearing a beret. This is due to the fact that the plane is heading to France, as Kowalski signals later.

When Alex and Marty meet each other at the beach, the background music is from the movie Chariots of Fire by Vangelis. Also, when Alex starts to chase Marty, he utters Sugar Honey Ice Tea which is a slang for SHIT.

Melman searches to see where their drinks are. Private is later seen handing them out while they are crash landing

When the old lady stands up during her American speech her shadow resembles the Statue of Liberty

One of the penguins is named after a common Polish surname, Kowalski. Ad?lie Penguins are from Antarctica, home of the South Pole.

After a car explosion in which Inspector Dubois drives through, devil horns can be seen over her head as well as a tail which shows that she's the main antagonist of the film
