Ricky Bobby is asked what the USA had contributed to the world. All of his answers were from other countries, but the jazz music he demanded that Jean Gerard turn off is American made.
The first car Ricky drives is sponsored by Laughing Clown Malt Liquor. Later in the film when Ricky's father reenters his life, he can be found drinking Laughing Clown Malt Liquor in almost every scene he is in.
The 'invisible fire' that Ricky Bobby believes has engulfed him is based on a real occurrence in NASCAR history. (Video link/explanation in comments).
When Cal Naughton, Jr. calls Ricky Bobby about Bobby's former mansion making noises with Naughton in it, the noise it makes after the call ends is saying "get out", which is confirmed by the closed captions
