The director tried to get "V" in every shot of the film. Even V's favorite phrase is "By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe," which translates into Latin as "Vi veri veniversum vivus vici," or five words that all begin with 'V', Roman number for 5.
High Chancellor Sutler can be regularly seen with extremely dilated pupils which is suspected (though never explicitly mentioned) to be due to drug use - this is an allusion to Hitler's stimulant addiction towards the end of WW2.
Before Lewis Prothero was killed by V in his bathroom you can see his doll collection next to his mirror. In the comic Lewis was never killed. Instead V kidnapped him and tortured him by burning his doll collection in front of him and went insane after being released.
Big Ben is seen about to turn 11:05 before the Army of Vs show up. 11:05 representing November the 5th (the main date in the movie) and 11:05 making a "V" shape with the clock hands.
