Christopher Walken hinted the identity of his character by calling himself "Morty" - which is a shorthand of Mortimer. Mort means "death" in French.
After being made partner, Micheal Newman (Sandler) is asked to take over Eric Lamensoff's position as head of the international division, as Lamensoff will be taking over Micheal's old boss's job. This character is referenced again in Grownups (2010) as the dad Kevin James plays.
