Frozen Movie Facts, Easter Eggs and hidden details

Two men are arguing about which way wood should be stacked. In 2013 there was a heated debate in Norway about stacking wood either bark side up or down, so much so that it became part of the culture. Since Frozen is inspired by Norway it was added in as a nod toward the debate.

The editors made a mistake that you can clearly see if you pause the video at the right moment. Kristoff's finger disappears inside Anna's side as if it were a computer game.

The water spirit is a horse, based on the Nokk from Scandinavian mythology (usually represented as a horse). The Nokk isn't the only ethereal being associated with horses. Poseidon was the Greek god of seas, storms, earthquakes, and....horses.

The siren call in Frozen 2 (2019) is based on Kulning, an ancient Scandinavian herding call

When Elsa is walking through the memories of the past, she sees her parents as youth. Her mother asks what her father is reading, he says "Just some new Danish author", implying Hans Christian Andersen. The cover of the book features a silhouette of the Little Mermaid.

: When Sven pays for the new outfits for him and Kristoff, Elsa's profile is engraved onto the coins.

Has a reference to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody (2005) with the lighting and backround shadow with the reindeer

The servants are named Kai and Gerda. This is a reference to the fairy-tale "The Snow Queen"; the main characters are called Kai and Gerda.

Is based on a story by hans christian andersen, which is why characters are named Hans Kristoff - Anna - Sven

Their father is seen reading a book by "some new Danish author" the cover of the book alludes to The Little Mermaid written by Hans Christian Andersen. He is also the author of The Ice Queen, the story which Frozen was based on.

When Olaf sings the "You all look a little but older" directly at the camera, commenting on the fact that all the children who saw the first movie have aged five years

A small Baymax from Big Hero 6 can be seen made of snow as Anna and Elsa play together at the beginning of the movie.

Marshmallow is wearing the same tiara in Frozen 2 (2019) that was left behind by Elsa and picked up at the end of Frozen (2013)

When they are playing charades in Frozen 2 (2019), Anna makes poses similar to Sully from Monsters Inc (2001), and Olaf acts like Mickey Mouse

Elsa nearly misunderstands a child wishing to have a sextant.

Had some familiar faces in the snow. We found what's looks to be Baymax, Balto and Dumbo on the left, along with a princess on the right side.

When Olaf sings 'In Summer' he has a drink in his hand with the ice in the drink shaped himself, foreshadowing that he could melt in summer like the ice in his drink would.

There are two hidden Mickey toys in the film. One in the shelves of a bookcase at Arendelle Castle, the other partially behind some product at Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna.

Sven grabs the cravatte off the suit because it has tiny carrots on it.

The blanket used by Anna and Olaf is the same one from Olaf's "In Summer" song from Frozen (2013)

There is a disclaimer about eating boogers

Olaf's statement that turtles can breathe out of their butts is actually a real phenomenon known as cloacal respiration and occurs with several species including painted box turtles, eastern snapping turtles, and Fitzroy river turtles.

. It's not just Frozen and Frozen 2. It's also Frozen and Frozen, Too.

The Duke of Weselton is mistakenly called Weaseltown. In Zootopia(2016) Duke Weaselton is mistakenly called Weselton. Both were voiced by Alan Tudyk.

When Grand Pabbie tells young Elsa that there is beauty in her power, her silhouette matches the scene at the end of the movie when she finally gains full control of her powers and freezes the fountains beautifully in front of an adoring crowd.

As Hans reveals who his real intentions and who he really is, he removes his gloves. This mirrors how Elsa removes her gloves as she reveals her true self in 'Let it Go'

Olaf can't fully bend his arms at the elbow. The only time he can is during his summer fantasy.

Anna tells Kristoff and Olaf to wait outside the Ice Palace for a minute, and they sit down to start counting. After 60 seconds in real time, Olaf finishes his count and enters the palace.

Baymax is among the snow toys young Anna and Elsa play with

You can see two carvings of trolls on Oaken's porch.

Olaf's arms only bend at 90 degree angles during his dream-like "Summer" song and when Kristoff intentionally bends them. Otherwise they stay relatively straight throughout the film

Hans calculated Elsa's position relative to the ice chandelier before he "saved" her from the guard's crossbow arrow

Hans and Anna (in song) say "love is an open door". Later, Hans closes and locks a heavy door (leaving Anna to die) after telling her he does not love her.

The writers reference one of their favorite Arrested Development lines and have the characters repeat it.

The opening scene of Frozen 2 (2019) takes place in the same night as Elsa and Anna's accident in Frozen 1 (2013), as evidenced by all of the characters wearing the same clothes and Anna whispering to Elsa about "building a big snowman later"

When Hans confronts Elsa, he is emitting steam when he opens his mouth. Notably, Elsa does not, meaning she is cold on the inside, and thus the cold doesn't bother her.

The opening song "Frozen Heart" is a bunch of strong dudes singing about how dangerous and uncontrollable ice is, and how it's stronger than 100 men, but the story is about Elsa commanding ice with the slightest gesture or thought.

Elsa's true love kiss didn't just reverse the deadly spell from the Ice Palace, which froze Anna's heart. It also reversed the accidental damage done years ago as children, removing the white streak through her hair.

Song Lost in the Woods, running with Kristoph's quirk of "talking" for Sven, songwriter and composer Robert Lopez wrote, and actor Jonathan Goff recorded, 18 tracks of reindeer backing vocals.

Before saving Queen Elsa from being shot directly with a crossbow. Prince Hans looks up and notices the ice chandelier, which he then aims the crossbow at to harm Elsa. This is a perfect example of Elsa "having a little accident", like Hans refers to later in the movie.

During the sequence for "Let It Go", Elsa builds a bridge while singing the second pre-chorus of the song. In music the lyric bit between a chorus and verse is typically a pre-chorus but sometimes it may also be referred to as a link or a bridge.
