During the opening credits, some of the redacted words ask whether the MUTOs are "merely men in rubber suits", a reference to when Godzilla was played by a man in a suit.

Rage Against The Machine was commissioned to contribute to the original soundtrack. The resulting track, "No Shelter", explicitly trashes the movie, Hollywood in general, and American culture.

There is a statue of the wind demon Pazuzu (Captain Howdy) from the Exorcist (1973) in the underwater city Godzilla rests in

A Viking longship can be spotted among the ancient ruins of the Atlantis-like underwater city. Implying the Vikings got there first, as usual.

A scene in Godzilla (2014) hinted at the involvement of Mothra in the next movie.

As Ford and Joe Brody search their old home outside of the Janjira Nuclear Power Plant, we see a tank with a clear label for Mothra. A very clear reference to the 1964 film Godzilla vs. Mothra.

Has a small reference to director Hideaki Anno's popular Evangelion anime series during a quick glance at social media reactions to the disaster

You can see the word MOTHRA written near the bottom of the Aquarium. It's a clear indication of the setting up of the MonsterVerse.

The defense system of Castle Bravo is armed with Maser Turrets. This refers to the Maser cannons and vehicles seen through the Godzilla franchise spanning from the Showa era to the Millennium era.

The F-18 pilot says that he is arming a laser-guided bomb, when his display clearly shows him arming a harpoon anti-ship missile.

You can see Rodan bowing to Ghidorah in submission in security camera footage after losing his fight to him.

During the scene where Ford and his father go back to the quarantine zone, Fords childhood moth can be seen with the name "Mothra"

The Japanese Government requests help from the USA in dealing with Godzilla as it rampages through Tokyo. The US relay a map of their proposed bombing zones and title it "Embassy Defense Plan", wherein almost everything in Tokyo would be leveled except for the US Embassy.

The electrical towers that Godzilla melts with his radioactive breath were actually made of wax. The special effects crew melted them by blowing hot air on them, as well as shining hot studio lights on them for the white-hot effect

When Godzilla fires his atomic breath, his spines glow blue. This resembles the blue glow of Cherenkov Radiation emitted by nuclear reactors

King Ghidorah's middle head sometimes snaps at the other two heads, and they also look at him for behavioral cues demonstrating that the middle head is dominant.

The main villain is a monster named Orga. The trailers and commercials made it seem like the villain would be Godzilla. The poster also misdirects... Until you look closer.

Nuclear Godzilla's pulse blast thing has Mothras wings in it. Showing the part of Mothra at her death that entered Godzilla to heal him.

The four Toho kaiju are given actor credit

The credits scene hint to more Mecha Titans such as Mecha Godzilla, and the popular fan theory that King Kong could have been man made.

When the team sends probes to inspect Godzilla's home, you can see the Japanese Katakana characters for Godzilla (???) on the left of Godzilla's cave painting

While Ford and Joe are looking through their old house, Fords Terrarium is labeled "Fords Mothra".

They used motion capture for Ghidorah, & it's kinda funny to watch..

A poster in one of the opening scenes depicts the 2 fully grown MUTOs. Even revealing that they will be in San Francisco with the Golden Gate bridge in the background.

Rather than use a radio edit of Come With Me by Puff Daddy, Godzilla roars over top of the profanity.

The poster behind the teacher that shows the lifecycle of a butterfly, the "butterfly" looks a lot like Mothra

There are two hints showing that the people in the UPS van are french. One is obvious, the other not so much. (Explained in comment)

During the scene when the Female MUTO ambushes the train, she mimics the sound of the military radio and the train's horn. This is likely because of the MUTO's use of echolocation.

Despite Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character having recently returned from 14 months at sea with the Navy, he never fires a single shot throughout the entire film.

Some know about MOTHRA on the terrarium with the chrysalis. The MOTH in MOTHRA comes from the FORD'S MOTH label which foreshdows the first MUTO's emergence from it's chrysalis.

During the bridge assault in Godzilla (2014), an Army Soldier maintains muzzle awareness, by lowering his rifle as a civilian bus passes by.
