Judy Greer's character wears a Christmas sweater on Halloween in order to "skip" the holiday due to the trauma her mother endured 40 years prior.
The camera slowly zooms in on the pumpkin, making the carved eye and nose look like the silhouette of Michael Myers holding a knife.
Michael put a specific pumpkin in Julian's fish tank. He went downstairs, got the heart-eyed jack-o'-lantern that Vicky's boyfriend had given her, and put it into the fish tank for added effect when Hawkins comes to find Vicky's cold body.
