The Rock plays the video game character Dr. Smolder Bravestone. When he discovers his strength is smoldering, he looks into the distance. If you have subtitles on, it clarifies what he is doing.

Alan tries to convince Carl that he knows him by recalling he used to be called "Soleman" at the Parrish shoe factory. In the beginning of the movie this moniker is emblazoned on Carl's apron.
Alan tells Sarah how to save him before he even gets to the jungle
The character, Sarah Whittle, becomes a psychic in the original timeline. After finishing the game Sarah Whittle goes back in time but retains all memories, this means she can remember the future, essentially making her a legitimate psychic in the altered timeline.
