Director Wes Craven has a cameo as a janitor called "Fred" who dresses like Freddy Kreuger.

For her iconic role in Scream (1996) Drew Barrymore told Wes Craven her "secrets" so he could easily make her cry on set.

Gale Weathers mentions that the film based on her book, Stab, would break box office records...in reality Scream 2 broke the December box office opening weekend record by over 30% in 1997 and held the record for 3 years too.

The character of Randy, played by Jamie Kennedy, says, "Watch out, Jamie," and "Jamie, look behind you," while referring to the killer being behind Jamie Lee Curtis's character in Halloween, though he was in the same situation with the killer right behind him.

Principal Himbry was played by Henry Winkler, who also played The Fonz from the hit TV show, Happy Days. Principal Squiggman in the parody, Scary Movie (2000), who was played by David L. Lander also played Squiggy, who was a parody of The Fonz on Laverne and Shirley.

Drew Barrimore mentions on the phone to her soon-to-be killer that she's getting ready to watch a scary movie. When things escalate and Ghostface breaks the patio window, an image of him flashes on the tv set.

So most characters, as usual, have the latest iPhones. But in the opening scene's movie-within-a-movie-within-a-movie, Stab 6, Trudy has a Sidekick 2. That means Stab 6 probably came out in 2008.

The identity of the killer in Scream (1996) is foreshadowed in the scene where Principal Himbry scolds a pair of students for wearing the Ghostface mask.

Killer's questions at beginning

Sidney Prescott mentions she would unfortunately get Tori Spelling casted as her if her life was a movie. In Scream 2, Tori Spelling is playing her character in the movie about Sidney's life.

Sidney Prescott is wearing a Greek letter necklace which was given to her by her boyfriend who was killed in Scream 2.

After Kenny gets his throat slit in front of Sydney, he points to the back of the van leading her to her escape.

Early in Scream (1996) when Neve Campbell and Skeet Ulrich are making out on the bed, you can faintly hear remake of the song "Don't fear the reaper". This foreshadows the reveal at the end of the film.

When Tatum was killed by the garage door the cat door was on the left side but in Scream 3 the door is on the right

While watching Halloween Randy played by Jamie Kennedy is yelling "behind you Jamie!" at the TV when the killer is standing behind him.

The character Stuart (Matthew Lillard) leaves the group discussing what not to do in a horror situation violating Rule #3 by saying he will be right back. He does this knowing he will not die to this trope because he is one of the killers.

When Jill finds out Sidney is alive & thus could ruin her plan/story her heart rate on the monitor is heard increasing

Sid monolouges about scary movies saying "Some stupid killer stalking some big-breasted girl who can't act who is always running up the stairs when she should be running out the front door. It's insulting." She later does this same thing when running from Ghostface.

They cover up a famous goof (a visible camera man) by putting a black square over him

Scream 2, there's evidence midway through of a character is going to be framed later on

When Ghostface is attacking Sydney on the stage, it is implied at the end that she is just seeing things. If you watch closely, you can see the real Ghostface escaping behind another dancer.

The song "Don't fear the reaper" plays when Billy and Sidney are together in the beginning.

When Sidney tells her boyfriend Billy she knows he's not the killer because she received a call from Ghostface while Billy was in jail, he briefly looks over at his friend Stu down the hall. This is foreshadowing to the fact that both Billy and Stu are working together as Ghostface.

Billy glances down the hall while telling Sydney he couldn't have made the phone calls, hinting that it was someone she just ran passed.
