Titanic Trivia

These trivia from Reddit and other sources can be used as questions with answers in quizzes or games.

  1. James Cameron had the duplicate titanic built on the starboard side due to wind conditions, this was a problem because the ship leaves from its port side in Southampton. They decided to flip it. So all directions, words, props, were made the opposite way so it could be flipped.

  2. The illustration of Rose (Kate Winslet) was actually completed by the film's director, James Cameron

  3. The well dressed gentleman who decides to go down with the ship is Benjamin Guggenheim, an American businessman who refused a lifeboat in order to spare women and children. Alongside him is his valet, Giglio, who he chose to perish with.

  4. When the ship goes in reverse, the central propeller doesn't. This is because the original titanic's central propeller was not reversible.

  5. The Master at Arms that arrests Jack (played by Ron Donachie) is next to them when the ship breaks in half.

  6. The team had to rearrange the set so it could be flipped (because only one side of the Titanic was built to film). The only thing they forgot to do was tell the extras not to use their dominant hand, which is why a lot of extras on the shore are waving with their left hand.
