Hidden Details




The main theme was created by Swahili composer Michael Abels who, like Jordan Peele, was interested in capturing African culture in the film. It features an 8-person choir chanting "run", "listen to the truth" and "save yourself" in Swahili, representing ghosts trying to warn Chris.


As soon as Chris mentions about his mom passing away. Missy plants her hypnosis trick by clinking the tea cup with a spoon, which she will later use it as a cue to hypnotize Chris.

The eery song that is played at the end is called 'Sikiliza Kwa Wahenga'.In Swahili it means 'Listen to your ancestors' and the lyrics mean 'Run'.

The car that is used to kidnap black people is white on the outside and black on the inside.

The lyrics to the song that plays over the opening credits scene in Jordan Peele's Get Out (2017) issue a warning in Swahili to the protagonist, Chris: "Sikiliza kwa wahenga. Kimbia, unakimbia mbali" ("Listen to your ancestors. Something bad is coming, run").

The song Redbone by Childish Gambino is playing, its lyrics, including, "stay woke" and "don't close your eyes."
