Roxanne Richter (Mae Whitman) is marked with four 'X's. Apart from implying that she is the fourth ex Scott has to face, it also represents four X chromosomes, highlighting her past lesbian relationship with Ramona in the comics and film.

Scott wears a Plumtree shirt at the start of the movie. Plumtree was a Canadian band that wrote a song called "Scott Pilgrim" which was the inspiration for the comic books written by Bryan Lee O'Malley which inspired the director Edgar Wright to make the movie.
Scott steps on a guitar pedal to summon the Sonic Yeti during the battle of the bands. Although its logo was obscured, this pedal is a Digitech "Bad Monkey" overdrive, signifying its connection to the giant ape

During the scene where Scott breaks up with Knives Chau, you can faintly hear the beggining of the song Black Sheep, that is sung by his ex-girlfriend later on the movie, signifying that Scott is acting just like her, and breaking someone's heart

The Pee Bar Animation Is Reflected In The Mirror
This scene has seven X's in the background, representing Ramona's seven exes. Two of the X's are surrounded by white, because at this point in the movie Scott has already beaten Matthew and Lucas.
Knives tells Scott not to "beat himself up about it" while fighting Nega Ninja in a video game. Later, he talks things out with Nega Scott instead of fighting, and become friends.
Just before Scott meets Roxie, street signs indicate the status of the seven exes. The two white crosses (or x's) indicate the defeated Mathew and Lucas, the remaining five yellow crosses show the other undefeated exes.
Scott asks for a list of her Evil Exes, and she sarcastically says she might get it laminated. When she does give him the list, it is in fact laminated.
